Tracking Technologies & Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 6, 2026

This Tracking Technologies and Cookie Policy explains how CheckHabit ("Company," "we," "us," and "our") uses tracking technologies, device identifiers, SDKs, and cookies when you use the CheckHabit mobile application and our website (collectively, the "Service").

While traditional "cookies" are primarily used on websites, mobile applications use similar technologies like Software Development Kits (SDKs), mobile advertising IDs, and local storage to achieve the same purposes.

What are these tracking technologies?

  • Cookies: Small data files placed on your browser when visiting our website to remember preferences or keep you logged in.
  • Local Storage & Caches: Data stored directly on your mobile device by the CheckHabit app. We use this to enable offline access, store your habits locally for faster load times, and remember your app settings.
  • Mobile Advertising IDs: Unique identifiers provided by your mobile operating system (e.g., Google Ad ID on Android or IDFA on iOS). These are used by advertising networks to serve personalized ads.
  • SDKs (Software Development Kits): Blocks of code provided by our third-party partners (like Google AdMob or analytics providers) that are installed directly into our mobile app to help it function, track crashes, or serve ads.

Why do we use these technologies?

We use these technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Functionality: To keep you securely logged into your account and ensure the app operates correctly.
  • Performance & Diagnostics: To detect app crashes, monitor performance, and identify bugs so we can fix them quickly.
  • Advertising (Free Plan Only): The free version of the CheckHabit mobile app uses Google AdMob SDKs to serve contextually relevant and personalized advertisements.
  • Analytics: To understand aggregate usage patterns (like which features are most popular) so we can improve the CheckHabit experience.

Third-Party SDKs & Partners

We partner with trusted third-party services that may deploy their own tracking technologies within our app. The primary third-party service we use for tracking and advertising is:

Google AdMob

Used to serve advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID and app interaction data. You can learn more by reading Google's Privacy Policy.

How can I control tracking and ads?

Because CheckHabit is primarily a mobile application, you can control tracking and ad personalization directly through your device's system settings rather than through a browser cookie banner.

Controlling Ad Personalization (Android)

  • Go to your device Settings.
  • Select Google, then select Ads.
  • Tap Delete advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads.

Upgrading to Pro

Users who upgrade to a CheckHabit Pro subscription will have all advertising SDKs disabled, and no ads will be served or ad-tracking performed.

Clearing Local App Data

You can clear locally stored data (like cached habits) by going to your device's App Settings, selecting CheckHabit, and tapping "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache." Please note that clearing data will require you to log in again.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Tracking Technologies and Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the SDKs we use or for other operational or legal reasons. Please revisit this page regularly to stay informed.
